pinhole photography at the creative center

Earlier this week I was fortunate enough to be part of a great PINHOLE photography workshop at the creative center at university settlement, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the creative arts to people with cancer, chronic illnesses, and through all stages of life. as an artist/photographer, care taker and "cancer leftover" I totally support the mission of this organization and it was only a plus that they offered a workshop by John Blalock, an artist in residency at the Seattle Children's hospital, which taught us how to build and use a simple pinhole camera (instructions shall follow soon so stay tuned!)

One of the great things at the creative center is the artist in residency program which the LIVE strong foundation would like to replicate. but they need your help and vote before the deadline on friday, march 23rd 2012 so visit their website vote.livestrong.org and bring art to people fighting cancer in your community. and if you are not sure which facility to support just follow my foot steps and vote for Montefiore Medical Center in New York which was our home away from home during our cancer battle!

and for those that didn't know - in 2008 my husband was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and we decided to document his bone marrow transplant and put it together into a book Transplant: The fight against Leukemia (more info at www.transplant-ed.com)

together we can make a difference - with one click at a time!
